It’s the perfect upgrade for winter months, or to keep your bike looking fresh all year long – as you’ll have 12 months of protection.
HCB-1 is suitable to use on all bicycles, e-bikes, motorcycles, e-moto bikes, UTVs, ATVs, quads, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, jet skis and other watercraft – just check around your weapon of choice and look out for signs of corrosion and apply.
This innovative product is a must-have. It’ll keep moisture out, creating a durable anticorrosive layer of protection on your bike’s frame, chain, metal parts, plastics and paintwork. And on parts that have already got some rust showing, it’ll get rid of it altogether.
To make it super easy to check that you’re protected, we’ve added a UV dye. With a UV light* you can check it’s correctly in place and ready to protect your bicycle, e-bike or motorcycle. So you can get out there and enjoy the ride, no matter what the weather.

HOW TO
- Thoroughly wash and dry the surface before applying. It’s a good idea to test a small area for surface compatibility before complete coverage.
- Before using, make sure the surface you are spraying on is cool and out of direct sunlight.
- Shake the can to activate the formula. You can use the extension straw for a more precise application.
- Apply a thin, even film of spray on the surface you want to protect* and allow it to dry completely. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to allow it cure, which will offer the best protection.
- Check to make sure the coverage is even using the UV torch (sold separately)
*Just remember not to apply Harsh Condition Barrier to tyre treads and braking surfaces.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is HCB-1 Safe to use on hot parts of a motorcycle?
Yes it is, however we recommend waiting several hours after last using your bike to allow it to fully cool down before applying HCB-1. After spraying HCB-1, we recommend not using your motorbike for up to 24 hours to allow it to fully cure. You may find that it smokes slightly when you first turn your engine on but this is completely normal.
Is it safe to use on brakes, disc brakes or brake pistons?
We do not recommend using on brakes or brake pistons. For disc brakes we would instead recommend using our Disc Brake Cleaner.
Can you use HCB-1 as a chain lubricant?
We wouldn't advise using HCB-1 as a day to day lubricant as it's only meant to be sprayed once around every 12 months. We would instead recommend using our range of chain lubricants. Not sure which lube you need, check out our guide for Which Lube Do I Need?
Can I use HCB-1 on my carbon frame?
Yes, HCB-1 is safe to use on your carbon frame.
Do I have to spray HCB-1 every time I clean my bike?
No, once sprayed, HCB-1 is active for up to 12 months. We recommend spraying your ride with HCB-1 as we go into the colder & wetter months to get maximum protection.
Is HCB-1 waterproof?
Yes, once sprayed it will be active for up to 12 months so washing your bike and rain won't remove the protective film during this period.
Can I use it on my indoor turbo trainer?
Yes, it's fine to use on the metal parts of your indoor trainer. However, we would advise not spraying on the vents, into the flywheel or on the base/feet of the trainer.
Do I need to immediately wipe HCB-1 off after spraying?
No, you'll need to leave HCB-1 on to cure for up to 24 hours. All that we recommend is that you wipe off any excess overspray which may go on plastic parts or parts you didn't spray on. Always cover up any brakes/disc brakes before spraying
Is HCB-1 safe to use on bearing and also bearing seals on eBike motors?
HCB-1 is safe on bearings but shouldn't be used in place of a specific bearing grease. Seals shouldn't be allowed to soak in HCB-1 for long periods so best to wipe down any excess/overspray
